Warehouse Analysis Program

Your warehouse is a complex function of your organization. According to several independent studies less than 30% of warehouses are efficient and as a result they average between 45-60% annual turnover rates.  Knowing the cause of your turnover, the cause of your inventory errors and the cause of customer dissatisfactions is key to your personal success as well as the success of your company.

  1. Labor [65%] accounts for the largest costs associated with distributing your products.

  2. Your inventory values range between 6-20% of your revenue.

  3. The carrying costs for your inventory ranges between 20-35% of your product cost on an annual basis.

Understanding those three things also means you understand that it costs $2500 in new sales to make up for $100 of lost inventory assuming a 4% return. Our analysis program allows you the visibility into your warehouse and uncovers the problems associated with it. We provide you with the knowledge that cannot be gained internally by performing the following steps....

Phase One:

TLS will thoroughly analyze your existing processes and procedures in the warehouse. By

monitoring, performing, questioning and documenting the individuals and the functions

         directly and indirectly involved.

Phase Two:

TLS will thoroughly review the layout of your facility and the flow of material in and out. TLS will analyze your existing material handling equipment required to efficiently perform

         the above mentioned tasks.

Phase Three:

TLS will review any existing documentation related to the processes in the warehouse as

well as any documentation relating to the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning or

Accounting) system existing and new. TLS will then make recommendations based

on industry experience and internally gathered knowledge about the processes being

performed on your existing systems as well as what will be performed on a

         potentially new system.

 Phase Four:

TLS will provide documentation outlining findings and recommendations based on those

         findings. Such as:

  1. What has been reviewed.

  2. The results of what was reviewed and the knowledge gained.

    1. Why "Picking/Packing/Shipping/Receiving/Inventory" errors occur.

    2. Why one "Picker/Receiver" is more productive than another.

    3. Why bottlenecks occur in your warehouse.

  3. Recommendations to improve each process analyzed.

    1. These recommendations will be based on:  the layout of your facility, the abilities of your people, the current and future requirements of your customers, your current and future business model and of course, " Our Years of Experience!"

  4. Detailed reasons why the process should not be changed (if appl.)

    1. Sometimes processes are perfect and should not be changed. Its always been that way needs to be supported with the facts why it has always been that way.

  5. Recommendations for a successful implementation of a new ERP system.

    1. If you are planning on "Upgrading" your existing ERP or Accounting package, TLS will provide you with the necessary information to prevent your warehouse and Supply Chain from being negatively impacted.

    2. TLS will also review any proposed modifications to ensure they are absolutely necessary.

  6. Recommendations for a successful (simultaneous) ERP / WMS implementation.

    1. If you are planning on "Upgrading" your existing ERP/Accounting system while simultaneously "Upgrading or Implementing" a WMS system rest assured TLS will be there to assist.

    2. TLS will review any vendor documentation to ensure proposed modifications are necessary.

    3. TLS will provide you a detailed list of questions and "Expected" answers based on your: facility, processes, people, customers business model and future requirements.

Detailed work instructions (User Documentation) can be included as well. This documentation can be used as training tools (SOP's) for new and existing employees for an additional fee.

Don't pay: Hotel, Rental Cars, Airline Tickets or any other additional expenses that you are normally charged by consulting firms. Our Analysis are all inclusive. You pay one flat fee and gain a thorough understanding about your warehouse or distribution center.
